LEE, Eung Se was appointed as a judge in 1991, which marked the beginning of his legal career, and continued to serve as a judge until his retirement as the senior judge of Seoul Northern District Court in February, 2012. During his 21-year career as a judge, he has accumulated extensive experience in various matters, including being in charge of medical cases while serving in the medical division of the Seoul High Court for two years since 2000, and being in charge of cases regarding the infringement of copyright, trademark, trade secret, unfair trade practices and securities transactions while serving in the 5th criminal division (fully in charge of economics, intellectual property rights, fair trade cases) of the Seoul Central District Court from 2008 to 2009. He also served as professor of the Judicial Training and Research Institute, where he taught Personal Information Protection Act and issues regarding consumer protection in electronic transactions. He joined Barun Law LLC as a partner lawyer in March, 2012, and his practice focus is intellectual property rights, entertainment, corporate finance and criminal matters.
Mr. Lee joined Barun Law LLC as a partner in March 2012, and his main areas of work are intellectual property rights, criminal matters, construction, telecommunications media technology (TMT), energy and corporate finance.
He concurrently serves as an arbitrator of the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board (in the areas of construction, intellectual property rights and software), member of the Contents Dispute Mediation Commission under the Korea Creative Content Agency, expert committee member of the Contract Deliberations Committee of Korea District Heating Corporation, legislative advisory committee member of the KOSDAQ Listed Companies Association, member of the Trust Forum of the Korea Financial Investment Association, vice president of the Association of Korea Intellectual Property Right Lawyers, member of the deliberations committee on registration of certified expert lawyers of the Korean Bar Association (intellectual property rights), auditory member of BIT Computer, member of the special communications advisory committee of the Korea Communications Standards Commission, adjunct professor of Korea University Law School, legal advisor of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, legal advisor of Korea South-East Power and Korea Western Power, and legal counsel of the Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation.  He also gives lectures on construction at the Construction and Real Estate Training Institute of the Seoul Bar Association and writes construction-related columns on The Construction Economic Daily.
