Attorney Kim Young-Oh completed the Judicial Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court as a member of the 34th class. Thereafter, he was appointed as a prosecutor and gained extensive experience from working at various levels of the prosecutors’ office, completing his final term as a senior prosecutor of the First Criminal Affairs Division of Gwangju District Prosecutors’ Office. He then joined Barun Law LLC in 2024 and currently works as a partner attorney with the firm’s Criminal Affairs Group.

He has an extensive experience in handling cases on election, labor, and environmental cases, and has even been seconded to the Ministry of Environment. As a lead prosecutor, he conducted direct corporate and anti-corruption investigations that resulted in the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for embezzlement, breach of trust, stock price manipulations, and fraudulent transaction activities following M&A deals of several KOSDAQ-listed companies with almost no capital involved.

In addition, Attorney Kim has participated in various corporate and anti-corruption investigations and was awarded the Prosecutor’s Certification and the Minister of Justice’s Commendation in recognition of his competence in corporate and organized crime investigations, including investigations of corporate gambling sites and forfeiture of criminal proceeds.

During the 20th Korean Presidential Election Campaign, Attorney Kim investigated cases of violation of the Public Official Election Act, including a case where a prominent member of the non-ruling party offered illegal money and goods, and a case where a member of the National Assembly from the ruling party offered illegal money and goods. As a result, he received the Presidential Citation Award for Distinguished Investigation in the 2022 Presidential and Regional Elections.

- Directly led the investigations in embezzlement, breach of trust, stock price manipulations, fraudulent illegal transaction practices following M&A deals of several KOSDAQ-listed companies with almost no capital involved

- Participated in the investigation teams on corporate management misconduct or anti-corruption (investigated the management misconduct of an aerospace company and a pizza franchise, and the company that offered third-party bribe to a professional football club)

- Investigated a case on the violation of the Public Official Election Act due to offering of illegal money and goods in connection with the presidential nominee election

- Investigated incumbent National Assembly members for violation of the Public Official Election Act in connection with offering money and goods with respect to the 20th Presidential Election Campaign

- Investigated a case on violation of the Public Official Election Act and the Political Funds Act due to early election campaigns and illegal expenditure of political funds by an incumbent National Assembly member

- Investigated a case on the violation of the Public Official Election Act due to early election campaign by an incumbent mayor

- Investigated a case in which an incumbent city council president offered bribes during the city council president election process
