Attorney Kim, Yong Ha is an administrative law expert who served as an administrative case judge for seven of his 25 years on the bench. It is highly unusual for a judge to serve consecutively for seven years in the court’s administrative division, which specializes in handling administrative cases. After completing his tenure as a judge at the Seoul High Court, he joined the firm in 2023 as the head of the Fair Trade Group. He now handles investigations by the Korea Fair Trade Commission and the prosecution, as well as various civil, criminal, and administrative trials.

Attorney Kim leverages his extensive litigation experience to provide clients with optimal solutions. During his time at the Seoul High Court and the Supreme Court, he handled administrative cases, including fair trade cases and redevelopment/reconstruction cases, as well as tax cases. As a judicial researcher in the administrative division of the Supreme Court, he dealt with various types of fair trade cases, including unfair collaborative acts, abuse of market-dominant positions, and unfair trade practices, demonstrating his expertise in fair trade law.

As the presiding judge of the corruption and election-related trials division at the Seoul High Court, he handled notable cases such as: △ The violation of the Public Official Election Act by a National Assembly member A, △ The criminal case involving the Minister of Environment’s blacklist, △ The violation of the Air Environment Conservation Act related to the emissions manipulation by Audi Volkswagen Korea.

Additionally, at the Seoul High Court, he dealt with cases involving construction, real estate, patents, copyrights, trade secrets, and unfair competition practices, and at the Seoul Central District Court (Bankruptcy Division), he handled numerous corporate rehabilitation and bankruptcy cases.

Attorney Kim has also been active in academia, lecturing on redevelopment and reconstruction cases and insolvency law at the Korean Bar Association and the Judicial Research and Training Institute. He has lectured on the Fair Trade Act and the Subcontracting Act at Hyundai AutoEver and is currently serving as a contributing writer for the insolvency law section of LAWnB ONJU. His research activities are vibrant and ongoing.

- A case on unfair joint practice concerned with net rate, loading rate and discount/increase rate of insurance premium committed by general insurance companies
- A case on unfair trade practice due to collection of transport and management fee by logistics operators that owns container depot
- A case on acts of giving disadvantages by university hospitals by way of delegated comprehensive payment system for selective medical treatments

Criminal Matters
- A case on breach of the Clean Air Conservation Act by an importer of vehicles installed with defeat device
- A case involving election-related crime committed by several National Assembly members and regional assembly members
- A case involving the Ministry of Environment blacklist
- Cases on economic crime, including embezzlement, breach of trust, breach of the Capital Markets Act by several company representatives
- Cases on civil service bribery crime

Administrative Litigation
- Several administrative litigation cases on approval for establishment of redevelopment and reconstruction association, approval for project execution, and approval for management disposition plans as well as civil litigation cases derived from the aforementioned legal relations
- Several appeal cases on dispositions limiting qualifications to take part in bids
- Several dispute cases on permits concerning national projects and construction administrative matters
- Several dispute cases on national merit recipients, victims of industrial accidents and grading thereof
- Several dispute cases concerned with compensation for losses

Insolvency
- Court receivership of ERon Technologies, a mobile phone manufactured, during its rehabilitation process from 2005 to 2006
- Executed and concluded the rehabilitation proposal of Dongah Construction Industrial in 2008
- Decision on commencement of rehabilitation procedure and court receivership of a sugar manufacturer in 2008

Protection of Trade Secrets
- A case on infringement of trade secrets concerning the design materials for construction of a power generation plant, between KEPCO E&C and Korea South-East Power Company
- A case on technology leak of a copyrighted tool used by a company for development of work-related program
- A case involving a leak of materials prepared for a company’s sale and purchase of a highly priced semiconductor-related equipment
- A case on trade secret leak concerned with management of partner companies for supply of car parts in the Middle East
