Attorney Kim Tae-Hyung majored in engineering as an undergraduate and passed the 37th patent attorney examination. While working as a patent attorney at Kim & Chang, he handled various patent-related cases. He worked as a judge with various intellectual property divisions of different levels of courts, even obtaining master's and doctoral degrees in intellectual property rights. He was appointed as a judge in 2007 and handled a variety of civil cases as well as criminal cases involving breach of trust, embezzlement, election, intellectual property and trade secret infringement, corporate collusion, and securities transactions until his retirement as a judge in 2024. During his career as a judge, from 2012 to 2014 and from 2019 to 2024, i.e., for a total of eight years, he dealt with family, inheritance, and juvenile cases and was able to acquire exceptional expertise in these areas. Every year, he gives lectures on family law litigation at the Judicial Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court of Korea and for the Family Law Training Program of the Seoul Bar Association, and he regularly writes a legal column on inheritance and divorce litigation for The Financial News. As an undergraduate student at Seoul National University, he worked as a producer for SUB, the university's broadcasting soceity, and based on this experience, he even worked as a VJ for Mnet, a TV music channel in Korea, for two years before embarking on his legal career. As such, Attorney Kim has expertise in music, games, and entertainment. He is also the author of Inheritance, Divorce, Juvenile Proceedings, and the Law According to a Senior Judge (Pakyoungsa, 2023), which he wrote while working as a judge and was on the bestseller list among legal publications.
