Attorney Ban Jeong-Mo completed the Judicial Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court of Korea as a member of the 28th class and was immediately appointed as a judge. He served at the Incheon District Court, Seoul High Court, Seoul Central District Court, and most recently as a presiding judge at the Seoul Northern District Court before joining Barun Law in March 2024. He is now a member of the firm’s Construction and Real Estate Group as a partner attorney.
While serving as the chief judge of collegiate panels focusing on construction cases at various levels of regional courts, Attorney Ban handled various cases, including housing (apartment units) defect lawsuits, sunlight right infringement damages lawsuits, and a construction payment claim for the King Sejong Station in Antarctica, and therefore has extensive experience and expertise in the construction and real estate fields. Attorney Ban mainly handles construction litigation and criminal cases, based on the know-how he gained from handling a variety of criminal cases, including bitcoin-related confiscation cases, sexual misconduct cases, cases of misappropriation of government subsidies for solar power plants, and violations of the Public Officials Election Act while serving as a judge at the Suwon District Court and the Seoul Northern District Court.
