Attorney Kim Jae-hyeong is a litigation specialist. His primary practice areas include finance, commercial law, intellectual property, environmental law, general civil litigation, administrative litigation (fair trade, taxation, and general administrative matters), and corporate criminal law.

After being appointed as a judge in 2001, Attorney Kim served for 22 years until his retirement in February 2022 as Presiding Judge of the Civil Division of the Busan High Court. During his judicial career, he handled a wide range of civil, administrative, and criminal cases. From 2011 to 2013, he served as a Research Judge at the Supreme Court of Korea, conducting research on numerous civil, administrative (fair trade and tax), and criminal cases. He also served at the Seoul High Court (2009–2011, 2014–2019) and the Busan High Court (2019–2022) as an Associate Judge, High Court Judge, and Presiding Judge, handling numerous civil, administrative (fair trade and tax), and criminal matters. From 2015 to 2019, he served as a member of the Standard Contract Advisory Review Committee of the Korea Fair Trade Commission.

Attorney Kim joined Barun Law LLC as a member attorney in March 2022. Since then, he has handled numerous litigation matters and has also provided legal advisory services to various companies and organizations, including Korea Land Trust Co., Ltd., Korea Capital Co., Ltd., Korea City Airport Terminal Co., Ltd., and the Korea Automobile Environmental Association.

- Conducted several studies and prepared reports on civil and commercial cases as research judge of the Supreme Court of Korea

- Dealt with numerous cases on finance, commercial, environment, intellectual property rights, medical, and general civil matters as a judge in various position within Seoul High Court and Busan High Court

- Represented in a lawsuit in 2023 concerned with payment upon termination with respect to development of Gyeongnam Masan Robot Land valued at KRW 100 billion (Mr. Kim won the case)

Antitrust/Competition, Administrative and Tax Matters

- Conducted several studies and prepared reports on a number of antitrust and competition, taxation, general administrative cases, including cases concerning price collusion on synthetic resin, giro commission fee and ready-mixed concrete as research judge of the Supreme Court of Korea

- Dealt with numerous administrative cases, including the case brought before Seoul High Court on cancellation of disposition imposing transfer income tax on Lone Star Fund

White Collar Crime, Election and General Criminal Matters

- Conducted several studies and prepared reports on a number of criminal cases as research judge of the Supreme Court of Korea

- Dealt with numerous cases on breach of the Public Official Election Act or the Political Funds Act, including the case on breach of the Public Official Election Act by National Assembly members brought before Seoul high Court

- Dealt with numerous cases on breach of the Act on Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes (fraud, embezzlement, breach of trust), including the case on occupational breach of trust by a chairman of a large company brought before Seoul High Court
