분야소개

The U.S. Embassy in Korea, located in Gwanghwamun, is currently in the process of relocating to a new location north of Yongsan Park near Sukmyoung Women’s University Seoul Subway Line Number 4 subway station.  First stage of the relocation—exchange of land—has been finalized and the second stage is currently underway based on the legal advice provided by Barun Law LLC, representing the U.S. government in Korea.  More than half of our global corporate secretarial clients that seek services in the fields of international investment, international M&A, cross-border trade, etc. are foreign entities, including governments and embassies of the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, Brunei, as well as branch offices of foreign companies.  Among such clients, a majority of them are entities and companies from the U.S. and Canada.

One of the greatest advantages of working with us in U.S. legal issues is the fact that the firm maintains close ties with the Korean-American community in the U.S.  For a long period, Barun Law has been at the forefront of research in complex legal issues concerning property dispersed in both the U.S. and Korea and owned by Korean-Americans.  Extensive understanding of both the U.S. and Korean laws as well as collaboration with other experts in accounting and taxes are essential to provide the best possible solutions to such Korean American clients.  As such, Barun Law shares exclusive cooperative relationship with Korean-American expert groups in the U.S., including the Korean-American CPA Society of Southern California (KACPA) and Korean American Tax Forum, seeking to provide litigation assistance and legal advice on business, domestic affairs and estate-related issues to Korean-Americans.  Based on such cooperation, Barun Law and the Korean-American expert groups regularly hold seminars in both Korea and the U.S.
