Attorney Kim Hyun-dong began his career in 2006 as a legal officer in the Republic of Korea Air Force. He served at the Ministry of National Defense, Defense Acquisition Program Administration, and Air Force Logistics Command, participating in major national defense projects such as the next-generation fighter jet (F-X, F-35 procurement), large attack helicopter (AH-X, Apache procurement), and maritime operations helicopter (MOH, Wildcat procurement). His work primarily focused on defense industry matters, government (public) contracts, and infrastructure projects. He also served as Head of the Judicial Research Division at the High Military Court, handling various military criminal cases. In May 2016, he joined Barun Law LLC as a partner attorney.

Since joining Barun, Attorney Kim has leveraged his personal experience as an early computer enthusiast from the 1980s, starting with the Apple ][ computer, and his activities in game development, hacking, and reverse engineering. He now provides advisory services to IT companies and industries related to the fourth industrial revolution, including blockchain, focusing on intellectual property, investment, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A). He is also active as a committee member for organizations such as the Ministry of National Defense, Defense Acquisition Program Administration, Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, Ministry of Science and ICT, and the City of Goyang.
