Attorney Baek Gwang-Hyeon gave a lecture on “Consumer issues that can be resolved in accordance with the law” to consumer training civilian lecturers attending the 2022 Gyeonggi-do Consumer Education Civilian Lecturer Course on June 23, 2022, held at a training center of the Gyeonggi Provincial Government located at Paldal-dong, Suwon-gu, Gyeonggi-do.

At the lecture, Attorney Baek explained of the major terms of the Fair Labeling and Advertising Act and examples thereof, major terms of the Electronic Commerce Act and examples thereof, examples of everyday legal issues that would be helpful to know (e.g., evidentiary power of recorded files, which is unknown to 99 percent of the population, what to be cautious of when transacting used goods, understanding the difference between crime of slander and defamation of character, ownership over congratulatory money gifts given at weddings, how to obtain refund for products sold under a Ponzi scheme, issues concerning deliveries made by courier, how to obtain refund for excess amount of gas when returning a rented vehicle, how to claim for damages against a hairdresser for causing damage to one’s hair, etc.).
